The largest jazz festival is often considered to be one of the best in the world. The Jacksonville Jazz Festival takes place every year in the center of downtown Jacksonville at the end of May.  On Memorial Day weekend at the 40th Annual Jacksonville Jazz Festival you can experience all that the city center Jacksonville brings to your life with sounds from traditional jazz and the new classics. Join the City of Jacksonville on May 21-24 and witness two levels of live music, local cuisine, drinks, shopping and entertainment. Since it was first held in 1980, the Jazz Festival has been one of the biggest jazz festivals in the world, providing a lively and vibrant street festival experience, and in 2020 you will enjoy it in downtown Jacksonville-all free of charge!

Any of the highlights include Wine Down: Wine-Tasting Trip, Heart Art Show & Sale, and The Great American Jazz Piano Competition. Former performers include Count Basie Orchestra, Harry Connick, Jr., Chris Botti, Kenny G, Rippington, Herbie Hancock, George Benson, Diana Krall, Miles Davis, Roberta Flack, Dizzy Gillespie, and Boney James.

This festival of all things jazz is largely a free affair, taking place in downtown Jacksonville. Offering a more traditional roster of the best performers of the music, the Jacksonville Jazz Festival has a street party feel, with just a few of the most popular artists in the world attending it.
